Ardmore
Ceramic Art is an acclaimed ceramic studio, based
in the Midlands of KwaZulu-Natal. The unique and
vibrant artworks have become a representative
of South African art. At an auction in London
dedicated to Ardmore; Christies defined it as
“a modern day collectable”.
Ardmore
was founded in1985 when Fée Halsted started
teaching her first student, Bonnie Ntshalintshali,
on the Ardmore farm in the foothills of the
Drakensberg. Five years later, in 1990, Bonnie
and Fée jointly won the prestigious Standard
Bank Young Artist Award and their work went
on to be exhibited at the Venice Biennale. The
studio now consists of over 50 artists whose
work has been sold at Christies, Sotheby’s
and Bonham’s in London and to collectors
in New York, Los Angeles and Paris.

where you can meet artists at work and view
the Bonnie Ntshalinthsali Museum. Here Zulu
history is shown from a unique perspective as
the Zulu artists have captured their oral archive
and cultural traditions in ceramic form. Afterwards
enjoy tea overlooking the scenic Lion’s
River and visit our prestigious Gallery where
a beautiful memento of Africa can be taken home
for you to admire forever!
