Why Visit Rocktail Beach Camp?

The camp is set back in and shaded by the sanctuary of the lush coastal forest covering the ancient dunes that make up the edge of South Africa’s north-east coast. Its 12 tented rooms have en-suite bathrooms, an open-feel indoor shower and overhead fans. The main area comprises a central dining room, bar and lounge with a wraparound veranda and a large pool.

Rocktail Beach Camp’s world-class diving is easily conducted from its dive centre which offers dives along unspoiled, pristine reefs. Trips to Lake Sibaya, the largest freshwater lake in South Africa, add another interesting facet when visiting this area.

Activities at Rocktail Beach Camp

Rocktail Beach Camp’s world-class diving is conducted within a Reserve and World Heritage Site along unspoiled, pristine reefs accessible only to Rocktail guests. For the diver wanting a more exclusive diving experience, with small numbers of divers on the reef and the dive boat, Rocktail Bay is the ideal destination. Rocktail Beach Camp close proximity to the dive centre has obvious advantages for keen divers.

Other adventures include birding, swimming or simply walking along endless white-sandy beaches. Excursions are available (at extra cost) to Lake Sibaya, the surrounding community and Gugulesizwe, a joint venture between Safari & Adventure Co. and the community, where horse riding, Sangoma visits and quad biking are some of the activities on offer.
