About Zululand

Situated in the eastern part of the South Africa, bordered by the Indian Ocean, Mozambique and Swaziland, Zululand is a beautiful part of KwaZulu-Natal, home to many wildlife reserves, marine sanctuaries, and world heritage sites. The region is an historic region, home of the Zulus.

Why Visit Zululand?

To the west of the Hluhluwe-Umfolozi Game reserves (150km north of Ulundi), one can explore cultural museums that concentrate on local history. The Zulu kraals or villages in Zululand, KwaZulu-Natal display the traditional Zulu way of life to visitors.

Zululand is also host to a large diversity of wild game. With more than 600 species recorded, the Zululand Birding Route is southern Africa's birding diversity hotspot. There are also a number of Big 5 game reserves situated within close proximity.
